RECRUITING A POWERFUL TEAM
Your Secret Tool – The Committee
The most important tool that you have in producing a successful golf tournament is your volunteer committee. They will either make you or break you. If you recruit the right people, train them properly, motivate them and hold them accountable, your event will be bigger and better than you could ever imagine. Here are a few ideas on how to maximize the efforts of your volunteer committee.
PICK THE RIGHT PEOPLE
1. Have the right size – 6 to 10 people
2. Recruit motivated and available people
3. Make sure that they have valuable contacts
TRAIN THEM PROPERLY
1. Put their job description in writing
2. Spend time teaching them what to do
3. Work with them every step of the way
MOTIVATE THEM
1. Give them a Title of responsibility
2. Give them recognition and show them appreciation
3. Give incentives to succeed
HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE
1. Give them specific goals
2. Call them weekly
3. Have them turn in a weekly report
COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES

2. Sponsor Chairman
3. Golfer Chairman
4. Gifts and Prize Chairman
