GETTING THE BEST PRICE

The Golf Course is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle for your event. The reason most golfers play in a Tournament is because of the Golf Course. The first question golfers always ask is “Which Golf Course are we playing?”

In this weeks news letter we would like to share 3 thoughts to get the best golf course and get the best price:
  1. What are Golfers Looking for in a golf course?
  2. How do you find the best course?
  3. How do you get the best price?

What are Golfers looking for in a golf course?
  •             Something unique that they normally don’t get to play
  •             A course in GREAT condition
  •             Good food and quality service
  •             Great value – getting more than they pay for

How do you find the best course?
  •             Ask your committee and as many golfers as possible
  •             Conduct a google search on top rated courses in your area
  •             Go visit the top 5 courses listed
  •             Look for private Country Clubs

How do you get the best price?
  • You can save a lot of money by NEGOTIATING the best deal at the golf course.
Also:
  • Hold events in the shoulder seasons (the months around the off season)
  • Consider Monday thru Thursday events
  • Evaluate afternoon start times
  • Compare other golf courses in the area
  • Find out all services that the course offers (added value)
  • Bring the course business, membership, golfers and events
  • Tell the course tournament sales staff your budget
  • Sign long term agreement
  • Order off the menu
  • Build a relationship
